About the Theevu Thidal
The 50th Indian Tourist and Industrial Fair 2026, popularly known as the Theevu Thidal Exhibition, is one of Chennai’s most iconic and longest-running public exhibitions, organized by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) at the historic Island Grounds. Celebrating its golden jubilee edition, this year’s fair brings together tourism, industry, culture, public awareness, entertainment, and shopping under one massive venue.
Spread across nearly 70 days the exhibition hosts a wide range of stalls from government departments, state and central public sector institutions, along with private exhibitors, artisans, and food vendors. Visitors get a unique opportunity to explore informative displays from departments like police, defense, agriculture, education, public welfare, and more — making it both an educational and recreational outing.
Beyond the stalls, the grounds come alive with family-friendly attractions such as Snow World, Haunted House, Mirror House, water games, magic shows, kite flying, children’s activity zones, and a variety of fun rides. The exhibition is also known for its vibrant food courts offering everything from local delicacies to popular fast food options.
